The following statement discloses the information gathering
and dissemination practices of the McKusick.COM web site.
This site does not send or request any cookies to or from your browser.
It does log all accesses from your IP address to the site,
and summary information derived from these logs (such as a count
of the number of hits) may be displayed on the Web.
The only other information that is collected is obtained when you fill
out an order form to purchase merchandise from this site.
The information from these forms are used by authorized staff members
to process orders, mail invoices, and respond to inquiries.
Purchase information may be retained for up to three years.
Commercial information (such as credit card numbers) is obtained
using our secure Web server and may be stored on our machines.
When the data are stored, we use public key encryption on the
sensitive data and require our staff to supply a private key to decrypt it.
When passing such information internally over the
Internet, we use PGP encrypted mail.
Opt-In
We do not rent or sell email addresses,
postal addresses, phone numbers, or any other information
that you provide to us.
We use email addresses to contact you to answer questions
and to acknowledge the receipt of orders.
We send occasional announcements about new merchandise
only to those people that have explicitly checked a box on one
of our web order forms requesting such information.
These announcements are short straightforward messages that
contain pointers to online resources where
you can explore the information more fully.
Change/Modify
If you wish to rescind a previous request to receive
information about new merchandise, send email to
mckusick@mckusick.com.
If you wish to delete an email address other than the one
from which you are sending, be sure to indicate the address
to be deleted in the body of your message.
